Explanation For The Artwork and The Change

The work of art I chose to reform is from the Renaissance Era. This era was a time of rebirth of ancient traditions in Europe. It began in the country of Italy in the 1400’s. Not only was art reborn, but also philosophy, literature, music, and science. The human body was used quite often to create sculptures and portraits. During this era, artists began to experiment with oil-based paints. This made their art more detailed. The colors used were also very dull. In portraits, clothing was usually dark while the body contrasted with light skin. The background varied between dark and light depending on the artist. This art era was very different from the art work we see today.
Pop Art is a style that is very diverse from the Renaissance. It uses bright and lively colors that catch your attention. Pop Art is also not as detailed as art work was during the Renaissance era. It first emerged in the 1950’s. The main concept of pop art was not necessarily the art, but the attitude that lead to it. The art work produced from this era was usually bold and aggressive.
To change this artwork to the Pop Art style, it didn’t take much, but it made a world of difference. The Pop Art style of live and bold colors was very different from the dull Renaissance colors. I used Adobe Photoshop to change the hue and saturation of all the colors used to create the Renaissance painting. This allowed me to make the colors brighter and more aggressive. Now the colors that were once dull are neon and flashy which was the Pop Art style. I also added multiple pictures of the orginal picture because most artwork was created that way with each individual picture a different color.
